Body of missing waterman recovered in Somerset Co.

SOMERSET CO., Md. – Maryland Natural Resources Police say they have recovered the body of a missing waterman near Deal Island.

The man has been identified as 58-year-old Ted Briddelle of Princess Anne. Maryland NRP officers recovered Briddelle’s body at around 4 p.m. Thursday near the shoreline of a private residence just over two miles from his last known location.

The search began just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Mud Rock near Deal Island. Agencies searched for the waterman for nearly 12 hours before suspending the search at around 6:50 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
