Blades PD Raising Funds For ‘National Night Out’

Blades, Del. – The Blades Police Department is raising funds for their National Night Out event on August 6th.

In a Facebook post, the department said they’re looking for small donations to help fund the event, along with gift cards that could be given out as prizes.

The Night Out will have free food, music, and activities for kids like face painting and games. The annual event promotes police-community relationships.

“We want people to see us in a different light. Because then when I went to your house for a complaint, you will remember me because you met me at one of these events and you got to be a little bit more at ease with me being there,” said Blades Police Chief Martin Willey.

The department is accepting donations through mail at 20 W 4th Street, Blades, DE, or in-person at the back of town hall from 8am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday.
