Beyond The Call helps honor the life of Cpl. Glenn Hilliard

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – A 23,000 mile tour helped honor the lives of Fallen Law enforcement, including Wicomico County’s very own Corporal Glenn Hilliard.

For 73 days, Beyond The Call, an organization based out of Spokane Washington, makes the cross-country drive, escorting their rig, decorated with pictures of officers who were killed in the line of duty.

It’s a mission that coordinator, Allison McCarter, said helps keep these hero’s memories alive.

“You get to hear stories about them. They’re not just a picture or a name, they get to hear a little bit about them, and then hopefully share that information with other people,” McCarter said.

Now, two years since the tragic passing of her husband, Tashica Hilliard said seeing his picture on the rig is a reminder of who he was to his community.

“It’s so recognizable that I feel warmth and joy when I see it,” Hilliard said. “I try not to associate it with something bad, I try to associate it with, this is his hero photo.”
