Wicomico Co. officials commission multiple PERs

WICOMICO COUNTY – County officials announced Tuesday that they have commissioned multiple preliminary engineering reports (PERs).

One PER was commissioned for the east side – and one for the west side of the county. They will provide a thorough analysis of existing infrastructure conditions and identify what steps need to be taken to improve them. Specifically these reports will be evaluating the county’s water and wastewater systems.

“Why these two reports are so important is, not only does it lay out a plan for the infrastructure of the county, but it’s also a way for us to make sure that we get state and federal dollars,” said County Executive Julie Giordano.

Giordano added that the County Council has made funds available for these projects, but she is optimistic that the county will be able to take advantage of funds available through state and federal programs.
