Wicomico Co. Health Dept. plans to address opioid crisis in upcoming meeting

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The Wicomico County Health Department will take community input in an upcoming meeting.
The health department is set to host an overdose prevention team meeting to gain information on substance use impacts and ways to address the opioid crisis.
Wicomico County opioid coordinator, Christina Bowie-Simpson, said they want to open the floor to residents, so they can contribute to the change.
“We really wanted to bring it in the community, so we can just gather feedback and information on those who are living in our community,” Bowie-Simpson said. “We want to hear the voices of those in our community, as it relates to overdose.”
The meeting will take place at 801 N Salisbury Blvd, suite 202. Those who can’t attend in-person can join virtually via the link on the health department’s Facebook page.
