Upcoming Dewey Beach town meeting to address community issues

Changes At Dewey Beach

DEWEY BEACH, Del. – There’s a lot on the agenda for the upcoming Dewey Beach town meeting.

Some of the issues that will be addressed are removing the residency requirement for county commissioners, weakening the oversight role of commissioners and diluting voting rights in the town.

Commissioner, Gary Persinger, said the time is now for residents to give their input, so the decisions made reflect the entire community.

“We’re elected by the people, so we need to hear what they think about those issues and the kinds of actions that we might take,” Persinger said. “There’s some pretty significant and important issues here that could make a big difference.”

The public meeting will begin Friday at 3PM, with a Zoom option available as well on www.TownOfDeweyBeach.com
