Two dead in a overnight fire in Bridgeville

BRIDGEVILLE, Del.- The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fatal fire.

On June 1st around 1:30 am Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company and assisting agencies arrived at a residence on the 16000 block of Atlanta Road.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they saw a single-family home on fire.

There were two people in the home at the time of the fire who were unable to escape those two sadly succumbed to their injuries.

Firefighters were able to place the fire under control just before 4:15 am.

Delaware Deputy State Fire Marshals responded to the scene as part of the Major Incident Response Team and are investigating the cause of the fire.

The fire remains under investigation at this time.

The amount of damage is estimated at $500,000.
