He is being held at SCI on a $1,060,000 cash bond for first degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

6/6 UPDATE: Delaware State Police have identified the victim as 26-year-old Jordaan Brummell of Millsboro.

MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police have made an arrest in a shooting that claimed the life of a man Tuesday morning.

At around 10:45 a.m., Delaware State Police and Millsboro Police responded to Saint Thomas Boulevard for a reported shooting. At the scene, troopers found a 26-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Malachi Waters, approached the victim with a gun and started shooting. Waters then reportedly fled the scene in a car.

The suspect vehicle was found a short time later, and troopers stopped the car in Delmar, near the Delaware-Maryland line. Waters reportedly fled, but was quickly caught in Delmar, Maryland.

Waters will be extradited to Delaware and charged with first degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
