Shots fired investigation leads to five arrests in Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. – A total of five people were arrested over the weekend on drug and weapons charges.

The investigation began just after midnight on Saturday, when Seaford Police were called to respond to the Mearsfield Development for a report of shots fired. Numerous vehicles were seen leaving the area of a residence that is still under construction, and police subsequently stopped one of the vehicles, observing a firearm that was attempted to be concealed in the car. A subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the recovery of two additional firearms and marijuana.

As a result, police arrested 22-year-old Johnny Cetoute, 19-year-old Ramone Clayton, 18-year-old Denzel Altenor, 22-year-old Elton Joseph, and 21-year-old Maxyondy Jean Baptiste. They were each charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, three counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a destructive weapon, possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, and second degree criminal trespass.

All five were held on a $73,100 cash bail.
