Salisbury Zoo plans to build new animal exhibit
SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Zoo celebrated its 70th birthday, Saturday, and officials made some big announcements.
Zoo director, Chuck Eicholz, said a new exhibit will be added to the zoo in the next coming years.
The project will cost the zoo a few million dollars, so it’s in the first phases of the capitol campaign process.
Eicholz added this new addition will help enhance the community’s zoo.
“We’re planning to build a brand-new Andea Bear exhibit, that we are hoping to break ground for some time this fall,” Eicholz said. “It’s going to be approximately $6 million, so it’s going to be major. We’re going to be starting a capitol campaign here very shortly.”
