REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – A road rage incident in Lewes Saturday evening led to the arrest of a Rehoboth man.

At around 5:40 p.m., troopers responded to the area of Coastal Highway and Wescoats Road for a reported road rage incident involving a knife. It was learned that a man operating a moped came to a stop in front of a car at a red light on Coastal Highway. The suspect allegedly approached the car and threatened to harm the two occupants while holding a knife. When the victims called 911, the suspect got back on the moped and fled southbound on Coastal Highway.

A short time later, a trooper saw a man matching the suspect’s description driving southbound near Airpor Road. The trooper subsequently pulled the moped over, and spoke to the driver, identified as 27-year-old Tyler Draine. During the stop, Draine reportedly failed to follow verbal commands and ran across Coastal Highway in front of multiple cars. He was taken into custody after a brief foot chase and was found in possession of a pocketknife.

Draine was charged with two counts of aggravated menacing, two counts of terroristic threatening, two counts of disorderly conduct, carrying a concealed dangerous instrument, resisting arrest, expired tags, and crossing at other than a crosswalk. He was later released on a $6,202 unsecured bond.
