Police, fire marshals investigating series of attempted arsons in Wicomico Co.
SALISBURY, Md. – The Maryland State Fire Marshals Office is investigating a series of attempted arsons in Salisbury early Wednesday morning.
Just after 3 a.m., the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office was called to respond to four homes in the 1000 block of Tuscola Avenue and one home in the 800 block of Oneida Avenue for reports of attempted arson at each location. Investigators reportedly found destructive devices commonly referred to as “Molotov cocktails” placed at the front doors of each residence.
Police were able to obtain video footage from a doorbell camera, showing people placing the devices at each front door. Deputy State Fire Marshals say the devices failed to function as intended, causing only minor fire damage.
The suspects are believed to be two men. One was reportedly wearing dark pants and a white shirt with a horse or cow printed on the front, and the other was wearing dark pants and a Fortnite shirt.
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in this investigation due to a recent homicide that happened in the area of these incidents.
