Pair arrested after traffic stop leads to discovery of drugs in Seaford
BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – Two men were arrested on felony drug charges stemming from a traffic stop early Wednesday morning in Seaford.
At around 1:15 a.m., a trooper on patrol was traveling behind a silver Nissan Altima on Concord Road eastbound, in the area of Concord Pond Road, that reportedly had an equipment violation. The vehicle was stopped, and as the trooper was approaching the car, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana and saw white smoke billowing out of the car as the passenger window rolled down. Contact was made with the two occupants, identified as 21-year-old David Kelley and 23-year-old Colby Lecates, and a tray with a green leafy substance was seen in the passenger’s lap.
