New Superintendent of Dorchester Co. Public Schools announced

DORCHESTER CO., Md. – The Board of Education of Dorchester County has announced that Dr. Jymil Thompson has been appointed Superintendent of Schools.

Dr. Thompson has been serving as Interim Superintendent since March 2nd.

“We were fortunate in attracting very well-qualified candidates, but Dr. Thompson stood out as the best fit for Dorchester County Public Schools. The entire Board looks forward to working alongside Dr. Thompson to ensure that all Dorchester County children have the opportunity to reach their full potential.”

Dr. Thompson previously served as Assistant Superintendent at Dorchester County Public Schools. He also served the district as Assistant Principal and Principal of Mace’s Lane Middle School. He began his education career as a Special Education teacher.

Dr. Thompson’s contract will be formally approved on June 13th, and his appointment as Superintendent will officially begin on July 1st.
