Man convicted in 2021 Salisbury drive-by shooting case

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man has been convicted of assault and related charges stemming from a drive-by shooting in late 2021.

On December 21, 2021, two victims were standing in front of the Westside Cash Market on West Road in Salisbury, waiting for food they had ordered in the store, when they were hit by bullets. One victim suffered a through-and-through gunshot wound to his leg, while the other victim was hit in the side of his head, causing a laceration.

Deputies found three spent bullets at the scene. Further investigation revealed that the shooting was perpetrated by the driver of a Ford EcoSport, which was found the following day by Salisbury Police. The vehicle was being driven by 36-year-old Antonio Jarmon, and a search of the vehicle led police to find three spent .380 shell casings in the backseat of the vehicle. The vehicle and Jarmon’s iPhone were seized as a result of the investigation. Additional evidence linked the vehicle to the Cash Market at the time of the shooting and to two separated residences associated with Jarmon both immediately before and after the shooting.

Last week, Jarmon was convicted by a jury of two counts of first degree assault, two counts of second degree assault, two counts of use of a firearm in a crime of violence, reckless endangerment from a motor vehicle, loaded handgun in a vehicle, handgun on person, possession of a firearm with a criminal conviction, and illegal possession of ammunition.

Sentencing was deferred pending a pre-sentence investigation. Jarmon will remain in custody pending sentencing.
