Local organization in need of volunteers

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – Worcester County Youth and Family Services is in great need of mentors.

The mentorship program pairs youth participants with adults, who act as role models. Mentors get to spend time with the kids and help them navigate young adulthood.

Director of Worcester Connects, Kayla Figueroa, said they have plenty of spots that need to be filled in the program, and all it takes is an interview and background check to make a difference in someone’s life.

“We are always looking for mentors. Right now, we have about 32 kids, only 11 of them are paired, and a lot of them are boys who are just looking for a positive male role model in their life,” Figueroa said.

To become a mentor, you can email Kayla at KaylaF@GoWoYo.org.
