Good Morning Delmarva discusses the Milford Museum’s upcoming program on the Rosedale Beach Resort

47ABC – The Milford Museum is hosting an upcoming program to highlight the legacy of the iconic Rosedale Beach Resort near Millsboro.

It’s a continuation of the museum’s history series.

It was one of the few hotels and spaces for African Americans entertainment in the Delmarva area before integration.

This morning, Tom Summers, visited Good Morning Delmarva to tell us more about this historic place and the program set for this Saturday, June 8th at 1 p.m.

Summers tells us that a few star-studded celebrities were known for visiting such as Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Sam Cooke, Aretha Frankin, Patti LaBelle, and more!

He says that it’s a hidden gem that was one of the limited spots that African Americans could come together.

The resort included not only entertainment, but an amusement park and baseball field.

Summers tells us it’s important to remember and learn more about venues like this that are a part of history in Delmarva.

Tom also tells us the Milford Museum has a new initiative to publish a new feature on Milford History each month via their website.

Again, the event will be this Saturday, June 8th at the Milford Public Library!
