Good Morning Delmarva discusses the 3rd annual Juneteenth celebration by Sturgis One Room School Museum

WMDT – This Friday, June 21st, Sturgis One Room School Museum will be hosting a Juneteenth celebration at Pocomoke.

It’s an opportunity to commemorate the holiday and the end of slavery here in America.

This morning, Kimberly Jones, President of Sturgis One Room School Museum stopped by to talk about this annual event and why it’s so important to celebrate our history.

Friday, June 21st they will be having an open mic night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Worcester County Library.

Saturday, June 22nd they will have their big celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sturgis One Room School Museum.

You can expect to see lots of fun activities for children, vendors, food, music, and more.

Jones tells us they are looking for more volunteers and they appreciate donations.
