Fire destroys car in Hurlock

HURLOCK, Md. – Fire marshals are investigating a vehicle fire in Dorchester County.

The fire was reported just before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the area of Gravel Branch Road and Millington Road in Hurlock. Crews were able to control the blaze quickly, however, the vehicle, a 2019 Volkswagen passenger car, was destroyed. Total damage was estimated at $30,000.

Investigators say the blaze began in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, but the cause remains under investigation.
