Families head to Delmarva Discovery Museum for Father’s Day fun

POCOMOKE, Md. – Families who wanted to celebrate Father’s Day in a laid-back fashion headed over to the Delmarva Discovery Museum.

The museum hosted its weekly otter show, where people could learn about the otters, interact with them and watch them be fed.

Father, John Helveston, was on his way back to Pennsylvania when he decided to take a detour to the museum, so his young sons could get in on the fun.

“This is something that we often try to do with our boys, but the otters are particularly special to see them up close, and they’re just having a blast,” Helveston said.

Staff member, Mark Sabia, said hosting regular events, especially during holidays like Father’s Day, helps draw in people from near and far, for them to see everything the museum has to offer.

“So many people are just unaware of this museum. We’re kind of a low-key museum in a low-key town, so we’re just now starting to get the word out,” Sabia said. “Everybody should take the opportunity to come to the museum, because it’s a nice morning or afternoon of fun.”
