Donations needed for Fenix Youth Project

Blackwater Apothecary

MARYLAND – The Blackwater Apothecary is asking for the community’s assistance to help local youth.

Blackwater Apothecary is a local metaphysical shop, owned by Nicole Blackwater. They sell crystals, candles, herbs, and more. They have numerous community events and consider themselves to be an interfaith safe space. Nicole saw a post online about the Fenix Youth Project and that they were in need and she took it upon herself to find a way to help. She tells us what she’s collecting and why she chose this weekend.

“So, this weekend we’re asking people to bring nonperishable food items, also washcloths, soap, that sort of thing, to go to Phoenix youth project which is a non-profit organization located here in downtown that helps at risk and unhoused youth… Well, pride is this weekend, and our community is full of lovers, and supporters, and helpers, and what better community to show support to one another than our pride community.”

Those who donate will have a chance to win Blackwater prizes valued at over 300 dollars, and donations will be accepted this weekend during the Pride Prade from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.
