Community member lends a helping hand

SEAFORD, Del. – The second annual Community Unite Fun Day is one month away.
Event organizer, MeShell Applewhite-Smack is on the lookout for more vendors to bring in.
Applewhite-Smack started the faith-based event after losing her son.
She left her Seaford community for some time and when she returned, she wanted to turn her pain into purpose and give back to those around her.
“When I came back, I just wanted to give back to the community,” Applewhite-Smack said. “What I wanted to do was create a safe place [and] bring everyone together and allow those people to get the things that they need.”
If you’re interested in being a vendor at the event, you can contact Applewhite-Smack CommunityUnite9@Gmail.com.
