Capital School District Superintendent announces resignation
DOVER, Del. – The Superintendent and CEO of the Capital School District has tendered her resignation.
Dr. Vilicia Cade, who served in the position for approximately three years, submitted her resignation earlier this week. In her resignation letter, Dr. Cade mentioned the challenges of reopening schools following the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown while also celebrating the many achievements of the district during her tenure, including a shared vision entitled “advancing education excellence through innovation.” She thanked the district for giving her the opportunity to serve in her role for the past few years.
The district responded to Dr. Cade’s resignation letter, thanking her and wishing her the best in her future endeavors.
Dr. Cade’s resignation is effective July 22, 2024.
The district has not yet announced plans for her replacement.
