Worcester Co. traffic initiative leads to multiple traffic stops

BERLIN, Md. – A targeted traffic enforcement initiative in Worcester County led to numerous traffic stops this week.

The Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack executed the initiative on Tuesday on Routes 13 and the southern half of Route 113. Troopers were on the lookout for traffic violations in addition to criminal indicators of drug trafficking activity.

During the initiative, six drivers with suspended licenses were identified, criminal leads for open criminal cases were developed, and a previously convicted felon was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute illegal narcotics and an associated firearms violation.
