Wor-wic selected for national student success initiative

SALISBURY, MD – Wor-Wic was selected for national student success initiative.  The community college was recently named one of seven community colleges chosen from throughout the nation to participate in the Accelerating Equitable Outcomes initiative of Achieving the Dream, a profit dedicated to improving student outcomes.

Wor-Wic will be focusing on transforming students’ experiences and outcomes at rural-serving institutions. According to Stout, the work of the rural-serving cohort will advance themes such as advising reform, closing equity gaps using data and creating new community partnerships.

Deb Casey, President of Wor-Wic Community College stated “For students it’s about equal access to learning, and helping remove barriers to their success. It really helps community colleges look how we can increase the number of students receive their credentials or degrees. And by doing that doing they have fulfilled their career goals”.

Wor-Wic will continue to transform lives of the students and the community. The college is excited to be apart of this cohort and focusing on student success.
