Woman found in possession of unloaded firearm at Dover school
DOVER, Del. – A Dover woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon following an incident at a local school
At around 3 p.m., the School Resource Officer at Dover Middle School was notified that there was a person inside the school with a firearm. The officer made contact with the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Angel Lake, finding an unloaded 9mm handgun inside of a holster on her hip with a magazine. It was learned that Lake was at the school attending a rescheduled meeting with staff and that she was prohibited from possessing firearms.
Police say they are still working to determine how Lake was able to attend the meeting while in possession of the unloaded firearm.
Lake was subsequently charged with possession of a deadly weapon in a school zone and two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited. She was later released on an $11,000 unsecured bond.
