Wicomico Co. Public library in need of Project Read tutors

SALISBURY, Md. – The Wicomico County Public Library is on the hunt for tutors.

The ongoing Project Read program helps encourage adult literacy and offers tutoring on several different subjects, from math, to science, to reading.

Head of programming and outreach, Stephanie Daisey, said without those coaches, the program would not be what it is today, and they need volunteers now more than ever.

“It is designed for adults; it’s a one-on-one tutoring program,” Daisey said. “Ongoing learners can apply through their program [and] they are paired with tutors that work out a schedule that works for both of them.”
