UMES Graduates Earning High Salaries
MARYLAND – Maryland graduates are entering the workforce with top-earning degrees according to US Department of Education Data.
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is just one local institution setting its graduates up for success. Dr. Yuanwei Jin is Chair of the Department of Engineering and Aviation Science at UMES. He says they provide many high-impact degree programs, and their goal is to produce individuals that will benefit Maryland’s workforce.
Dr. Jin says that High educational achievement is closely linked to economic success. “If you look at the job market now, you can notice that engineering and aviation professionals, like pilots, are all in high demand…We offer engineering degrees, biomedical engineering degrees, and aviation science degrees… One of the recent grads, he received a job in Maryland for the Defense company, and he told me his starting salary in Maryland is $90,000.”
Dr. Jin also said that Maryland is a great place to pursue higher education and high school students also have great options to advance their careers.
