CFES looking for “40 under 40,” seeking nominations
SALISBURY, Md. – The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore is seeking nominations for the 40 under 40 philanthropy awards.
These awards celebrate those who make a difference in our community by giving back through their time, talents, or treasure to charitable causes and inspiring others to create a significant difference on the Lower Eastern Shore.
To qualify nominees should be under the age of 40 at some point during 2024, and should have reached their 21st birthday before the nomination deadline.
We spoke to Jessica Meehan the Gifts & Grants Officer to determine the significance of the nominations.
Jessica said “so often people are intimidated by the word philanthropy. We really want to show people you don’t need a big checkbook to be a philanthropist. you might be a philanthropist if your a volunteering and giving back your time sharing your skills and in some cases definitely sharing that treasure which is often a financial contribution.”
Nominations are being accepted through May 15th on their website.
