The Camden Community Garden gets a refresh

SALISBURY, Md. -Members of the Newton Community Center Garden Club gathered to plant some garden beds.

Newton Community Center Garden Club is made up of school-aged students.

On Thursday those students got a chance to get their hands dirty by planting vegetables.

Pastor Martin Hutchison the founder of the community garden told us is that it’s a valuable experience for the children to have.

Hutchison says “We’re really as a society out of touch with where our food comes from. We think it comes from Food lion, acme, and Walmart, Sam’s Club, and it does but it has to be grown somewhere.”

Hutchison says there is nothing better than fresh grown vegetables, and he also stressed that they’re important for our health.

Members of the Newton Community Center Garden Club will meet once every week to check up on their budding plants.
