Somerset Co. crash claims life of one, injures another

MARION, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of one and injured another Monday evening in Somerset County.

At around 7 p.m., police responded to a reported single vehicle crash in the 27000 block of Crisfield-Marion Road in Marion. Troopers say the vehicle appeared to have left the roadway and hit a line of trees, flipping onto its side. We’re told speed may have been a contributing factor.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Braeden Bloodsworth, was flown to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment.

The front seat passenger, identified as 20-year-old Alexander Dize, was flown to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, where he was later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
