Plane crash leaves 2 people injured in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – A plane crash in Salisbury left two people wounded.

At the scene, there was a heavy police and fire presence, including the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack, and Hebron Fire Department.

Maryland State Police spokesperson, Kyleigh Beaver, said troopers responded, Sunday afternoon.

“Shortly after 12PM, troopers from the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack responded to the area of Log Cabin Road and West Road for a report of a single engine plane crash, that reportedly went down in the field,” Beaver said.

There were two individuals in the plane at the time of the accident. Beaver said thanks to the swift response of EMS, both individuals were able to get necessary treatment.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that two occupants were on board, a male pilot and a female occupant. The male pilot was transported by Maryland State Police aviation command trooper 4 to [R Adams Cowley] Shock Trauma in Baltimore, and the female patient was transported by ambulance to Tidal Health,” Beaver said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
