UPDATE: Pair arrested for abuse of vulnerable adult in Talbot Co.

TRAPPE, Md. – Two people have been arrested following an abuse investigation that began last month in Trappe.

On April 23rd, the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the abuse of a vulnerable adult at a group home on Krismor Court. Police say the home houses three special needs, non-verbal adults requiring around the clock care. The morning of April 23rd, a staff member had just started their shift for the day when they allegedly found one of the residents bound by his hands and feet inside his bedroom. It was determined that the resident had been tied up for more than six or more hours.

It was determined that 43-year-old Shalonda Reid and 34-year-old Paul Horsey, who were employees at the group home, were responsible for the abuse of the resident.

Horsey was arrested in Dover on May 15th and charged with vulnerable adult abuse, second degree assault, false imprisonment, and reckless endangerment. Horsey waived extradition in a Delaware court and was returned to Maryland for an initial appearance on May 20th, at which point Horsey was held without bond. On May 21st, Horsey was released by a judge on a $40,000 unsecured bond.

Reid was arrested at her Cambridge home on May 15th and was later released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
