One killed, four injured in Milton area crash

MILTON, Del. – An investigation is underway following a crash that killed one and injured several others in Milton Thursday afternoon.

At around 2:30 p.m., police say a Mercedes E-Class was driving southbound on Harbeson Road, slowing down to turn left onto Carpenter Road. At the same time, a Toyota RAV-4 was driving northbound on Harbeson Road, approaching Carpenter Road. For unknown reasons, the Mercedes allegedly turned directly in front of the Toyota, and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 62-year-old Camden woman, and a passenger, a 12-year-old, were taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

The driver of the Toyota, a 65-year-old Harbeson woman, was taken to an area hospital, where she died from her injuries. Two passengers, a 44-year-old woman and 4-year-old child, were taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
