Mother-Daughter duo touch homes across Del. through small business
LAUREL, Del. – Mother-daughter duo, Tracey Perdue and Kayla Asplen, have been leaving their mark on homes across Delaware, since 2017.
The two own a cleaning company, which Perdue said started as a side hustle and quickly tuned into a bustling business.
“She’s like, ‘Mom, I want to work for you because I know you need the help,’ and so she just came aboard 6 months after I had started, when it really started getting busy and more people started coming our way,” Perdue said.
The pair coined the name T&K Extreme Cleaning Services, to incorporate each of their names and highlight their extreme attention to detail, to every house they service.
While mom handles the necessary cleaning, Kayla gets down to the nitty gritty.
“She’s very particular. She has to have pillows a certain way [and] blankets a certain way,” Perdue said. “As she says, appearance is everything [and] presentation is everything.”
Through this 7-year journey of running the company together, the duo has built a tight bond. Perdue said she couldn’t imagine the business without her daughter.
“I’m very proud and prideful for her to accomplish the things that she’s accomplished in life,” Perdue said.
“Honestly, I’ll say it, if it wasn’t for her, I don’t know where I’d be. I’d still be in business, but I probably wouldn’t be at the point that I’m at now,” Perdue added.
