Millsboro man arrested for assault, resisting arrest
LONG NECK, Del. – A Millsboro man is behind bars on multiple assault and resisting arrest charges following an incident early Sunday morning.
Just after 5:30 a.m., troopers were called to a house in the 26000 block of Oak Forest Lane for a reported assault. They learned that a man, identified as 35-year-old Brandon Myers, had assaulted a woman at the house and left. A short time later, troopers found Myers on the property of a business in the 32000 block of Long Neck Road and tried to take him into custody, however, he physically resisted arrest. Myers then allegedly tried to take a trooper’s gun from the holster while they were arresting him.
Myers was eventually taken into custody following the use of a taser.
Two troopers were treated for minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Myers was charged with attempting to remove a firearm from a law enforcement officer, two counts of second degree assault causing injury to a law enforcement officer, second degree assault, two counts of resisting arrest, two counts of criminal mischief, third degree criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct. He was held at SCI on a $94,301 cash bond.
