Maryland State Police investigating Salisbury homicide
SALISBURY, Md – The Salisbury Police Department today announced that a missing person case is now an active homicide investigation.
After more than three weeks of searching, police said they found the body of missing woman Patoria Giddens. The 33-year-old was last seen on April 29th, but officially reporting missing four days later on May 3rd.
On May 26th, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Adams Ave.–the same area where Giddens was last seen–and said they found her dead inside a residence.
Early autopsy reports from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner indicate her death was a homicide.
The case has been handed off to Maryland State Police, both state and Salisbury police remaining tight lipped about the investigation. Neighbors we spoke with in the area were shocked to hear the news, most saying they had no idea anything had happened. One person said they had only heard through word of mouth.
Police have not released information on any possible suspects, at this time we don’t know how many people may be involved.
