Investigation into sex abuse of a minor leads to arrest of Felton man

FELTON, Del. – A Felton man has been arrested on rape charges stemming from an investigation into the sexual assault of a minor.

We’re told the investigation began on May 8th, when officers were called by the Division of Family Services to investigate an alleged sexual assault on a minor in the Hidden Pond Development. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 52-year-old Ronald Humphrey, and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.

Felton Police arrested Humphrey on Friday and charged him with second degree rape where the victim is less than 12 years of age, first degree continuous sexual abuse of a child, sex abuse of a child by a person of trust, and unlawful sexual contact with a person less than 13 years of age.

Humphrey was held on a $220,000 cash bail and issued a no contact order with the victim and any child under the age of 18.
