Gov. Moore signs ENOUGH Act into law

MARYLAND. – Governor Moore signed the ENOUGH Act into law, Thursday,
releasing funding for different communities to determine how best to tackle childhood poverty on a local level.
The legislation was supported by Cheryl Bost, president of the Maryland State Education Association, and she said the community driven approach will allow for programming and tools unique to each area.
Bost said now that the act is signed, the state can collaborate with community members to find out what support they need.
“Instead of the state telling them what they need, it’s going to be the entire community deciding what they need, to improve education,” Bost said. “Whether that’s crime, housing, food insecurity, and then the state providing those supports.”
