Good Morning Delmarva discusses UWLES Dine, Stay, and Play Program

47ABC – The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore’s (UWLES) Dine, Stay, and Play Program is making a return this summer!

It’s a partnership with local hospitality and tourism organizations to provide aid to the local community.

On Good Morning Delmarva, Ryan Jackson, the community outreach coordinator stopped by to tell us more about it.

Jackson says it started as Dine United in 2016 and has grown a ton since then raising over 323 thousand dollars for the local area.

They expanded to include not just restaurants, but hotels, motels, and entertainment venues!

Jackson says the program is a great opportunity for these businesses to get more visibility.

He tells us that they do their outreach and planning for the program prior to the summer.

UWLES uses the money raised to continue their mission to provide resources for those in need of help regarding health care, education, or finances.
