Early morning fire at Caroline Co. commercial building ruled incendiary

FEDERALSBURG, Md. – An investigation is underway following a fire involving an under-construction commercial building in Caroline County.

The fire was reported just after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, at 320 Hargrave Drive in Federalsburg. Workers reportedly discovered the small fire in the electrical room when they arrived at the site. Further investigation led detectives to find evidence of two separate fire points of origin, with both fires determined to be independent of each other before being extinguished. It was determined that the fire was incendiary.

The building, owned by the Choptank Community Health System, sustained a total estimated loss of $50,000.
