UPDATE: Police investigating threat at Laurel Middle/High Schools
6 p.m. UPDATE: Police have released additional details regarding this incident.
We’re told at around 1:45 p.m., a Laurel School District Administrator received a phone call on an office line from someone making non-specific statements related to a “bomb” before disconnecting. A call was made to the Laurel PD School Resource Officer approximately five minutes later, and everyone was evacuated from the school. A systematic sweep of the entire school was conducted, and nothing was found to substantiate the threat. All afternoon activities were canceled out of an abundance of caution.

LAUREL, Del. – An investigation is underway following a threat that was reportedly made via automated phone call at Laurel Middle/High Schools.
We’re told students and staff are being evacuated in an abundance of caution while officers work to secure the scene. All students are safe, and schools are following their emergency protocols.
Police are asking the public to stay away from the area at this time.
