LAUREL, Del. – Laurel Police are currently investigating a hit-and-run crash that caused damage to a building and wires down in the roadway.

We’re told the crash happened at around 10:30 a.m. in the area of West Street and Townsend Street. Utility company workers are working on a temporary fix until permanent repairs can be made.

Police say multiple witnesses remained at the scene and provided officers with photos, videos, and descriptions of the tractor-trailer involved in the crash. As a result, police were able to make contact with the trucking company to bring the driver back to the scene.

The driver was cited for leaving the scene of a property damage collision and was released pending a future court date.
