County Executive responds to Safari at the Quarry event
WICOMICO CO. Md. – County Executive Julie Giordano has responded to the Safari at the Quarry event held over the weekend at the Connelly Mill Quarry Site.
Giordano says the event was conducted professionally, and the area saw filled hotels, packed restaurants, and happy attendees. She says Brad Hoffman with Live Wire Media “exceeded expectations” and that he and his staff ran a well-organized event that adhered to every part of the Memorandum of Understanding.
“As the County Executive, I want to personally apologize to Brad Hoffman and Live Wire Media from Wicomico County. This organization has endured misinformation, slander, defamation, and misleading rhetoric from many facets of this county. I want Live Wire Media, as well as every other small business here in the county, or thinking about coming to our county, this is not how we do business. We pride ourselves in showcasing our county as “Open for Business” and “Business-friendly”. Those mottos were not displayed to Live Wire Media, and for that, I am truly sorry,” Giordano said in a statement.
She also adds that no one from the event drove through or passed by the Shadow Hills Community, and no sounds could be heard from the event by anyone in the community. Giordano went on to ensure the community that the work site will be in the same condition as it was before the event, and they plan to continue business as usual mining and hauling dirt for the landfill.
