Community members gearing up for annual Colors of Holi Festival

SALISBURY, Md. – Delmarva is in the full swing of spring and event organizers are gearing up for the annual Colors of Holi Festival.
The festival invites community members to celebrate Holi, the traditional Hindu holiday.
The festival will feature a traditional color throw, where people will be sprayed with an array of vibrant colors.
Event organizer, Suparna Nandi, said the celebration helps enlighten the community to such an important holiday for Hindus across the world.
“Last year when we did it, it has nothing to do with the religious aspect, it was only to do with the cultural aspect,” Nandi said. “That’s our whole concept of making things into a cultural one rather than a religious one.”
The free festival will take place Saturday, May 11th, at Winterplace Park in Salisbury.
