Community comes together for Haitian Flag Day Festival
SALISBURY, Md. – The Haitian Flag Day Festival kicked off in Downtown Salisbury, Sunday afternoon.
Vendors set up their food stands across from Unity Square, and YFC band set up on Division Street to play their traditional Haitian songs.
Attendee, Cassandra Cesar, was happy with the turnout of the event and is pleased with all of the community members who showed up to experience Haitian culture and learn more about their heritage.
“It’s good for us to see that all the people are learning about our culture and all that we have to offer, other than being here working,” Cesar said. “We have such a rich culture, our food, everything that we have is so full.”
