Board of elections releases first day of early voting numbers

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Thursday marked the first day of early voting in Maryland.

Across the state, elections officials said that they saw a lower voter turnout, and in Wicomico County, that was no different.

Dionne Church, director of the Wicomico County board of elections, said it was a slow but steady day at the Civic Center and First Baptist Church polling locations.

“We averaged, across Wicomico County, a turnout of approximately 280 voters, with our highest number at the Civic Center,” Church said.

Polling locations will remain open until 8PM Every day. Early voting ends on Thursday the 9th.
