Arrest made in Chester homicide

CHESTER, Md – A man was arrested Saturday in connection with a homicide that took place in Chester, Maryland.

Friday, deputies with Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check on a Chester resident. At the scene, deputies discovered that a domestic-related homicide incident had occurred.

In collaboration with other agencies, the suspect was located in Virginia and taken into police custody.

Officials say the victim’s identity and the suspect’s information are not being released at this time, pending investigation status.

Sheriff Gary Hofmann and State’s Attorney Lance Richardson said in a statement, “We commend the deputies and allied agencies that assisted in this investigation, ensuring a quick apprehension in a tragic domestic related situation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they deal with this tragedy and senseless act.”
