Wicomico Co. Health Dept. gears up for Nat’l. Drug Take Back Day

DELMARVA. – National drug take back day is just around the corner and the Wicomico County Health Department is encouraging you to get rid of your unwanted meds.

On April 27th, several organizations across Delmarva will be opening up their bins to accept your prescription drugs.

Instead of tossing them in the trash, alcohol, tobacco and other drug coordinator, Cynthia Shifler, said handing them off to experts is the best way to go about getting rid of them.

“A lot of people think putting it in the water supply, that is not a good way to do it. It’s not safe to have them in the water supply, so this provides them a place to go to dispose of them,” Shifler said.

You can see a full list of all of the drop off locations on the Wicomico County Health Department’s Facebook page.
