Sussex Co. brush fire under investigation

MILLSBORO, Del. – An investigation is underway following a field fire in Sussex County Tuesday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m., firefighters responded to a reported field fire on Bishop Street, in the Enchanted Acres development. Crews battled the blaze involving an approximately 50′ by 50′ area of woods and brush. It was reported that there were numerous mattresses and other household debris involving the fire, as well as surrounding leaves and vegetation.

The origin of the fire is believed to be suspicious.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident.
